When The Exorcist was shown at UK cinemas in regional towns from September 1974 onwards, it wasn't unusual for local Christian groups to picket cinemas and give out leaflets like these given out in Bognor Regis
Ironically there were also Catholic priests at the time saying basically 'if you can stomach the horror scenes, go see it, it's very pro-Catholic and ultimately shows God's power over evil'.
